1. Crispy Potato Balls
Prepare this finger food and serve it at your next movie night or pool party.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes (4 medium, boiled, and mashed)
- Bread slices (4)
- Red chili powder (1 tsp)
- Salt (¼ tsp)
- Lemon juice (1 tbsp)
- All-purpose flour (5 tbsp)
- Water (5 tbsp)
- Bread crumbs
- Oil (for frying)
Procedure:
Blend bread slices in the food processor and add them to the mashed potatoes. Add salt, chili powder, and lemon juice, and mix. Make dough balls out of the mixture.
Mix water and all-purpose flour to make a runny paste. Dip the dough balls in this paste and then in the breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil and serve in disposable serving ware.
2. Creamy Pasta
Pasta is everyone's favorite, and it is a part of almost every party table. This is because there are so many versions of pasta, and they all taste great. We are going to share a simple recipe that is so delicious that your guests would want more of it.
Ingredients:
- Penne or spiral pasta (1 ½ cups, boiled)
- Onions (one medium, chopped)
- Tomato ketchup (¼ cup)
- Salt (¼ tsp)
- Black pepper (1 tsp)
- Peas (¼ cup)
- Chicken (100 grams, cut into cubes, boiled)
- Potatoes (¼ cup, diced)
- Cream (½ cup)
- Mayonnaise (3 tbsp)
- Oil (4 tbsp)
- Cilantro (finely chopped for garnishing)
Procedure:
Follow the instructions on the label to boil the pasta (5-7 minutes in boiling, salted water), rinse under cold water, and drizzle two tablespoons of cooking oil on top. While your pasta boils, boil the vegetables.
We shall tell you an easier way to boil the vegetables in one pot. Boil water in a saucepan and add peas in it first. Let them cook for 4 minutes, and then add carrots and potatoes. Let all the veggies cook for 6-8 more minutes. That way, you wouldn't have to boil them separately.
In another saucepan, saute onions in two tablespoons of cooking oil. Add tomato ketchup, salt, and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring continuously.
Add boiled chicken and vegetables and cook them for 2 minutes before adding the pasta. You can also pour a splash of water here - so the vegetables don't burn.
Add pasta and incorporate everything for a couple of minutes. Finally, add cream, mayonnaise, and cilantro, and turn off the flame. Don't add cream before! You have to add the cream only at this stage, where you pour it and take it off the stove.
Serve this delicious, creamy pasta in a beautiful plastic serving ware.
To make it even simpler, you can boil the chicken and vegetables the night before and do the cooking on the day of the event.
