You are already excited about the idea. But more intrigued by the name. We get that a lot. The color of our mimosas inspired the name! It is such a pretty blush color, reminding us of a maiden's shy face and roses. So we didn't want to call it anything else. Hence, the name, blushing mimosa!
Here's Why the Blushing Mimosa Has Our Hearts!
This mimosa takes only a little time to prepare and is an absolute crowd-pleaser. How would it not be so with the sweet taste and beautiful color? Our guests go gaga over these whenever we serve them. That is enough of a testimony to prove the brilliance of our drink. How can we not be happy when this recipe doesn't cost us an arm and a leg? It is just so affordable to make. Plus, the flutes we use end up looking delightful with this mimosa!
You are curious about the recipe now, aren't you? Don't worry. We will not make you wait anymore. Below are the ingredients you will need to make our amazing blushing mimosa.
Ingredients:
- Two cups of orange juice (not from concentrate)
- One cup of pineapple juice. Keep in mind that the pineapple juice must be chilled.
- Two tablespoons of grenadine
- One (750-milliliter) bottle of champagne or sparkling wine. Yes, buddies, you guessed it right. This also needs to be chilled.
Note: We used Simply Orange 100% Orange Juice for testing purposes only.
We just want to clarify one thing. Adding ice to the liquids to make them cool is not recommended. You can refrigerate the fruit juices and chill the champagne using a wine basket! Keep in mind to replenish the ice basket, folks.
Have you gathered all the necessary ingredients in one place? You have? Then let's get to make this pure perfection! We know you'll be delighted that it only takes five minutes to prep!
Preparation:
First, grab a large container. We used a 35 OZ. CLEAR LARGE DISPOSABLE PLASTIC WINE CARAFES WITH LIDS. Then pour the orange juice, the pineapple juice, and the grenadine into it. Then, stir them together. We need the liquids to combine very well.
Next, pour equal amounts of the orange-pineapple juice mixture and champagne into the champagne flutes. And you are done. It didn't even take five minutes, did it?
Although we gave you the recipe, we didn't tell you how many drinks you can serve, did we?
To answer your question, Stemless champagne flutes are 9 oz versus standard champagne flutes that are 5 oz. If you are also using the same stemless flutes we used, this recipe will make six divine mimosas you can enjoy!
Suggestions and Substitutes
Let us talk a little about champagne, shall we? Alright. Now, do you need expensive champagne to make our mimosa? The answer is no. You can use cremant, prosecco, or cava in making the mimosas. There's no need to use any costly high-end champagne to make this drink when the delicious pineapple and orange juices mask any unpleasant taste you are worried about when using inexpensive champagne.
Moving to the next question you might have. What if you fancy a non-alcoholic blushing mimosa? We got you covered. You can substitute the champagne with two cans of ginger ale or lemon-lime soda.
Also, if you can't find grenadine, you can use pomegranate juice, Pomegranate Molasses, or raspberry syrup instead of it. Or you can always make your own grenadine at home!
It is pretty simple to make grenadine. You need 100% pure pomegranate juice. Remember, the juice needs to be unsweetened. You also need lemon juice and sugar. To make 2 cups of grenadine, you will need two cups of pomegranate juice, half a cup of sugar, and the juice of one lemon.
Into a saucepan, add the pomegranate juice and sugar. Then, on a medium-high flame, dissolve the two. You need to stir the mixture constantly. When the mixture boils and reaches a saucy texture, remove it from the flame and let it cool. After the sauce is cool, add your lemon juice to it, and give it a mix. And you are done. Store in an airtight container.
Garnishes for the Mimosa
We believe adding garnishes to a drink makes it more appealing. So here are some of the garnishes we love to use with our blushing mimosa.
We love using flowers. You can use edible flowers, such as lavender, and orchid, to garnish your drinks. When you use flowers as garnish for any drinks or food, it is essential to ensure that they are food-grade and free from pesticides. And if you are allergic to the recommended flowers, don't use them!
Who doesn't love fruits, right? Small chunks of raspberries or small slices of strawberries make for good garnishes too.
Party on, Smarties! With love, Smarty had a Party!
