In addition to making all my own decorations and desserts, I also set out to create a super fabulous 30th birthday DIY party hat. And because everybody should enjoy party hats, here are some instructions on how to create your own for any occasion.
Materials:
1 headband
1 sheet of scrapbook paper
Tissue paper
Any other decorative fun things you want to add (I used feathers, styrofoam glitter balls, lace, beads, etc.)
Hot glue gun
Hole punch
Tape
Directions: Using the scrapbook paper, roll a cone in the desired height of your party hat. Fasten it together with the hot glue gun and allow it to dry. Punch a hole on each side of the cone for the headband to slide through.
Slide the headband through and start attaching all of the decorations as desired.
The first things I attached were the black feathers which I attached with hot glue, then the tissue paper (also attached with hot glue and secured with tape) and the styrofoam balls. [caption id="attachment_48340" align="aligncenter" width="475"] Rear view.[/caption] Complementary Smarty Products:
